PDOStatement::errorCode
PDOStatement::errorCode — Get the SQLSTATE associated with the last statement handle operation (PHP 5 >= 5.1.0, PECL pdo >= 0.1.0)
Description
Syntax
string PDOStatement::errorCode ( void )
Identical to PDO::errorCode(), except that PDOStatement::errorCode() only retrieves the error code for operations performed on a specific PDOStatement object.
Return Values
Returns NULL if no error has occurred, otherwise returns a SQLSTATE, which is a five-character alphanumeric identifier defined by the ANSI SQL standard.
Examples
Retrieve a SQLSTATE code
<?php
/* Intentionally cause an error -- the BONES table does not exist */
$err = $dbh->prepare('SELECT skull FROM bones');
$err->execute();
echo "nPDOStatement::errorCode(): ";
print $err->errorCode();
?>
The above example will output:
PDOStatement::errorCode(): 42S02
