404 NOT FOUND!
Sorry, the article you are looking for does not exist!
The 404 page is an essential part of any website, responsible for both user experience and SEO optimization. It typically appears when a user visits a page that doesn't exist or has been deleted on the website. If the site owner hasn't set up a custom 404 page, dead links will appear, which negatively affects search engine crawling and indexing.
Origin of 404 Not Found
It is said that before the third technological revolution, the internet was essentially a large central database located in room 404. At that time, all requests were manually processed. If the requested file couldn't be found in the database or if the user entered the wrong file number, they would receive a response: room 404: file not found. After the internet grew popular, people gradually adopted 404 as the standard error code for "file not found." However, in reality, there is no such room 404.
Two Major Benefits of Setting Up a 404 Page
- Guide users not to leave the site, enhancing user experience.
- Prevent dead links from appearing on the website.
